classroom crashing {2 year old room}

i'm thrilled today to launch a brand new series -- classroom crashing!

every other week, i'll post pictures from creative and inspiring children's ministry classrooms. a virtual sneak-peak. an online classroom visit. an i'm-so-glad-you're-in-the-neighborhood-and-stopped-by-totally-unannounced tour. fun, right?

earlier this year i posted the first unofficial classroom crashing post when i highlighted the classrooms at rock harbor church in costa mesa california.

today! a special classroom crash from jenny wulbecker. jenny works in curriculum at promiseland and is the mom of this 2 year-old cutie {whom i'm super proud to claim as my niece!}. jenny invited us to crash the 2-year-old classroom as she works hard to create a great environment for the kids, and experiences the classroom as a parent.

the Age 2 classroom just added these Ikea DIGNITET curtain wires and clips outside every small group room. they are great! the leader hangs up the child's craft and the small group activity outside of the room which helps make pick up a faster process.

i'm in love with the current large group stage in the 2 year-old room. they just started the Jonah unit this weekend so the room is filled with fish, bubbles and bright blue lighting!

this is the small group/activity station space. there are 6 identical rooms {just for 2 year-olds} that are connected with a back door. during the activity station time the kids are free to roam from room to room. every other room has the same set of activity stations.

the rugs on the floor help to define the area where they would like the kids to keep that certain activity. the craft table is in the middle of the room to break up the space and encourage kids to move. every activity and space is well-designed and super intentional.

we recently added a shoe rack on the door {from bed, bath & beyond}. the slots are for parents to leave sippy cups and diapers. the original shoe rack had 24 slots, but the children's pastor cut the rack in half and dyed the fabric to match each room's door.

thank you, jenny! i especially love the artwork display. by moving the artwork outside the classroom, parents are less likely to experience a frantic pick-up. and, the hanging hooks put the children's creations on full display. fantastic! {PS: jenny is an early childhood contributor for the what matters now project. i absolutely love her article.}

cheers to classroom crashing! if you'd like to show off your space, send an email {amy@lemonlimekids.com}, and if you've recently heard about or visited a great classroom, send an email {amy@lemonlimekids.com}. i'm currently looking for great spaces to feature on the blog!
